After a long period of deliberations, the Western Carteret County Boat Launch Facility will finally be constructed. There will be a groundbreaking ceremony scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday at 4411 Highway 24. This project will significantly expand public access to Bogue Sound and the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway.

Do you love horses? Applications are being accepted through February for the Pony Patrol, a volunteer-driven program that helps raise community awareness, protect wild horses and promote compliance with wild horse guidelines at the Rachel Carson Reserve and Shackleford Banks in Carteret County.
