Friday, January 9

Brews & Booze Book Clubs at Historic Grounds Coffee Shop, Beaufort.
An evening of mystery, conversation, and good pours as Brews & Booze Book Club dives into The Hound of the Baskervilles.
6-7:30 pm
Astronomy Night at Fort Macon State Park, Atlantic Beach.
A night of astronomy, where Ranger Paul Terry will discuss the night sky, with telescopes set up for viewing (or bring your own).

Saturday, January 10

Casino Royale at The Islander Hotel and Resort, Emerald Isle.
The Carteret Youth Lacrosse Association presents an unforgettable night of poker, craps, roulette, amazing food & drinks at The Islander Hotel and Resort! All proceeds benefit student athletes.
7 pm | $75
Snowflake Salt Painting at Western Carteret Library, Cape Carteret.
Create your own winter masterpiece at the library! Kids and teens are invited to make beautiful snowflake art using salt, watercolor, and glue.
1-2 pm - register at the library website.

Sunday, January 11

Huggins Island Tour at Hammocks Beach State Park, Swansboro.
Join a ranger on a boat ride to Huggins Island. Learn about the diverse history that has shaped this maritime island over the years.
1-3 pm, weather permitting. Registration required.
Tiles & Taps at Shortway Brewing Company, Newport.
Experience Mah Jongg open play. All levels welcome.

Owl Prowl at Hammocks Beach State Park, Swansboro.
Learn about some of our owl species, their habitats, and tips of what you can do to help these night watchers.

Thursday, January 15

The Seaside Arts Council Annual Beach Ball at 213 West, Peletier.
Mark your calendars for a night out to support the SAC Scholarship Fund Raiser! Enjoy music, food, art and gift auction, 50/50 and a wonderful evening for a great cause.

Paper Squishes at Newport Branch Library, Newport.
Create your very own stuffed friend made out of paper and tape! This craft is perfect for children ages 6-12.
5-6 pm
Snakes at Hammocks Beach State Park, Swansboro.
Learn about the evolution of snakes throughout history and why they are essential for our world.
8-9 am
Natural Side of Fort Macon at Fort Macon State Park, Atlantic Beach.
A leisurely hike exploring the natural side of Fort Macon, covering both trail and beach.
