It’s late September, so that means it’s Oktoberfest season! We have a couple of Oktoberfest events listed below. Fun times!

And speaking of fun times, keep your calendars open next weekend. October 3rd through the 5th is the North Carolina Seafood Festival in Morehead City.

Friday, September 26

  • Evening Market with local vendors! at Thirsty Surfer, Emerald Isle.
    Local vendors in the surf, photography, art, jewelry, swimwear, botanical aids, bakery, and coffee industry will be displaying, educating and selling their products. Ther will be Music and Food Truck, too.

21st Century Software Technologies, Inc will be moving its headquarters from Boston to Morehead City. Annual pay for new jobs created will average $87,920, well above the average Carteret County salary of $42,419.

Great news for beach-lovers. As of October 1st, there will be no more paid parking at the Emerald Isle Eastern and Western Access Beach lots. At least until next season.

All teachers will be admitted to Tryon Palace for free during Teacher Appreciation Day, Saturday, Sept. 27 frpm 9 am to 5 pm. Public, private and home school educators are included. A valid form of teacher ID is required. Accompanying family members will receive discounted admission.
