Hello friends and neighbors!

You might notice a small change in format this week. Instead of a couple of informal tidbits to kick off each issue, there is now a formal section called “Local Buzz”. It will feature items of interest and new businesses. It will always be free of politics and gloom-and-doom. We’re also looking into developing a couple more new sections. But for now you will find sections for Crystal Coast Events, Local Buzz, Entertainment, and the Parting Shot.

Friday, September 5

SIX The Musical : Teen Edition at Carteret Community Theater, Atlantic Beach.
An electrifying teen adaptation of the Tony Award-winning musical, where the six wived of Henry VIII step out of the history books and into the spotlight to tell their stories—in their own words, with a killer beat.

Dealers will be on hand to buy, sell and appraise coins, paper money, bullion, and numismatic related material.

Day4Kids at Emerald Isle Community Center.
Day4Kids brings adults and children of all ages together for a fun-filled day of vendors, activities, games, music, dancing and more.
10 am-2 pm | Free
Cape Lookout National Seashore Astronomy Night - Cape Lookout National Seashore, Smyrna.
Join a park ranger for a starry night beside the Cape Lookout Lighthouse. The park ranger will give a program about different constellations, stories about using the stars for navigation, and more. Reservations required.
7:30 - 11:00 pm | The event is free, but the ferry to the Lighthouse is $30.00 (Adults) or $20.00 (Children)

Birding experts, Joanne Powell and Ed Phillips, will be on board as youe spot and learn more about our neighbors who live along the marsh and in the sky.

Beach driving season in Emerald Isle begins Monday, September 15, and continues until April 30 (except during Easter week from April 3 - 12). Beach driving permits are available for purchase online from the city of Emerald Isle here.

New Business Alert! The White Rabbit Cafe in Morehead City is a whimsical lunch spot and tea house inspired by the magic of Alice in Wonderland. The Cafe is located at 102 Arendell Street. More information and hours of business are available on their Facebook Page.
